Ellen Colthoff rejoined the NHC as a Programme Officer Integrity and Accountability in February 2023. She holds a degree in Spanish Literature and Philology from Leyden University and an LLM International Human Rights from Essex University.

Ellen’s work experience lies mainly in the field in Africa, Asia and Latin America. She served as a Country Manager with Médecins sans Frontières and as a Human Rights Officer and Sub-Director Management with the United Nations Department of Peace Keeping Operations and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. She also held various interim positions at the NHC in its various programmes.
