Nathalie Heidema
Nathalie joined the Human Rights Defence team at the Netherlands Helsinki Committee in November 2022. Prior to this, she worked at the WHO in Slovakia as part of the Ukraine Emergency Response mission. She has work experience from the EU Delegation to the UN, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in the private sector. Her main areas of specialization are international development programs, crisis management, and human rights – especially in the East European region.
Nathalie holds two Master’s degrees in European External Politics and East European Studies from the University of Amsterdam. She has field experience in South America and Eastern Europe. She is fluent in Dutch, English, German, Slovak, Spanish, and Russian.
