apis.centerThe APIS Institute (Zavod APIS), a non-profit dedicated to promoting social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, civic engagement, and respect for human rights. The Institute creates a space for collaboration between vulnerable groups, artists, experts, and the broader public. Through creative dialogue and with diverse approaches, APIS contributes to a empathic, inclusive and less polarised society by striving for a more holistic view of marginal, overlooked, misinterpreted topics.
About the Project
Heroines: Diverse Voices — a multimedia awareness campaign on women’s rights and inclusion
Heroines: Diverse Voices is a national-level grassroots campaign led by the APIS Institute, focusing on the achievements of first- and second-generation migrant women. In Slovenia, these women remain underrepresented in media and public life, leaving adolescent girls of colour without visible role models with whom they can identify.
From November 2025 to September 2026, the project will produce and release three written stories, three photo series, and three video stories. Each story will be shared over a two-month cycle in a targeted social media campaign, ensuring continuity and national reach.
The project builds on APIS’s long-term work in creative storytelling and contributes to the international Heroines! initiative, which will publish a global book of women’s stories and related educational materials.
