CAISA is a multi sector cooperative and non profit institution that works in education, culture and social intervention in the municipalities of Guimarães and V. N. Famalicão. CAISA's mission is to promote culture, education and social solidarity, as well as to support people of all ages through participatory and innovative work. The organisation focuses on social cohesion, inclusion and support for vulnerable groups, guided by values of cooperation, freedom, excellence and responsibility.

About the Project

Mothers, Daughters, and Granddaughters of the Revolution

CAISA’s project sought to explore the ongoing impact of the Portuguese Carnation Revolution on women in the Oeste region of Guimarães. Despite no longer living under an authoritarian regime, women in Portugal face persistent gender inequalities and the resilience of gender stereotypes. The organisation created a documentary that highlights the experiences of 25 women from three generations whose stories will promote historical reflection, raise awareness and support advocacy. CAISA has already carried out interviews and two pre-screenings for about 50 people, as well as produced promotional materials. The official premiere is scheduled for April 2026 and will be followed by dsicussions and debates with experts and the general public.
