CCI Poreč’s project intended to address sexist media coverage in Croatia, which remains a serious problem. It fuels gender-based violence, retraumatises survivors, and blames victims instead of perpetrators. As part of the project, CGI Porec and 11 Croatian NGOs expanded their coalition to address unethical reporting on GBV. CCI Poreč strengthened networks between civil society, institutions, stakeholders, and the public through workshops and strategic and collaboration meetings within the expanded coalition. The project raised awareness among journalists and editors through continued advocacy and a seminar. It developed media guidelines and promoted safer practices, such as informative sections and disabled comments on GBV articles. The coalition also successfully engaged the Ministry of Culture and Media and delivered a public awareness campaign on sexist GBV speech, completing all planned activities.
