cidamb.facebookCIDAMB is a non-governmental environmental organisation based in Portugal which focuses on advancing knowledge of environmental law and public tools for prevention and control. The organisation has over twenty-five years of experience and serves as a platform for NGOs working on environmental issues, providing an open forum for discussion and action. The organisation promotes research, and encourages active citizenship by supporting citizens and NGOs in addressing environmental, urban and cultural challenges.
About the Project
Capacita-Ação – Empower CSOs for Access to Environmental Justice and the Defence of Fundamental Rights
CIDAMB’s project aims to strengthen CSOs to help them navigate limited resources and external pressures. Its goal is to bring organisations together for joint capacity building by creating a shared space for knowledge exchange and resource sharing. This would help CSOs form stronger coalitions at local, regional and national levels. CIDAMB launched a training and civic participation programme on environmental justice and fundamental rights, supported by workshops, conferences and outreach activities. Through these trainings, CSOs can learn about their environmental rights, build advocacy skills and identify harmful narratives. By the midterm point, CIDAMB has already built strategic coalitions, held a conference with 40 participants and completed five of sixteen planned trainings.
