It creates inclusive spaces that strengthen communities, promote social justice, and empower people to take part in decisions affecting their lives. Guided by human rights and intersectionality, Diásporas works to influence public policies and ensure equal opportunities.
About the Project
Communication and Advocacy Academy for Migrant Women
Diásporas’ project is motivated by the systematic barriers that prevent migrant women in Portugal from fully participating in social, political, and public life. Economic precariousness, language barriers, and bureaucracy often limit their access to opportunities and reduce their ability to advocate for their rights and participate on their own terms. The Communication and Advocacy Academy for Migrant Women aims to empower fifteen participants with a migrant background who are already active in associations and social movements. It provides the participants with training in storytelling, digital communication, campaign design, and advocacy, supporting them to co-create a public campaign and strengthen their collaboration. The project concludes with a public event and a co-creation guide, improving visibility, skills, and advocacy for migrant women.
