Domine is a feminist organization based in Split, Croatia, which has been operating since 2003 with the mission of improving the social position of women and promoting gender equality. The vision of the organization is a society in which women enjoy equal rights, security and opportunities, without violence and discrimination. Through the “Maja Čulić” Counseling Center we provide legal, psychological and psychosocial support to women victims of violence, while at the same time we carry out education, public campaigns and advocacy activities. The goals of the organization include the prevention of violence, the promotion of nonviolence, participatory democracy and social solidarity, as well as strengthening the communication and cooperation of civil society.

About the Project

MAJA – Changing prejudices, affirming equality, strengthening awareness, activating community

Gender-based violence is not only a question of protection of individuals but also a challenge of democratic and civic space. Innovative and sustainable communication strategies are needed which will enable visibility, provoke empathy and encourage solidarity. Precisely here the space opens for this project: through a dedicated communications campaign the goal is to raise awareness of all forms of gender-based violence, increase understanding and support of the public, strengthen resilience of civil society organizations and contribute to the fundamental values of the European Union – human rights, equality and rule of law – in Croatian society
