Catalyst of Change
Supporting a vibrant civil society in Europe
European Center for Legal Education and Research (ECLER)
ecler.orgECLER is a non-profit organisation that promotes human rights, democracy and the rule of law. Its mission is to help eliminate human rights violations in Europe through research, advocacy, education, training and community engagement. ECLER works to build a society that values dignity, equality and justice, aiming to prevent human trafficking and protect every person’s rights. Through education, advocacy and collaboration, it seeks to strengthen global resilience against exploitation.
About the Project
Together Against Women Exploitation (TAWE)
ECLER’s project aimed to tackle the problem of human trafficking in Romania, which disproportionally affects women and girls while national prevention efforts remain insufficient. ECLER aimed to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations, professionals and the public to prevent and identify cases of human trafficking early. The project delivered five seminars with 151 participants, 11 workshops with 628 high school students, and an online campaign. It also created three local ECLERhub groups to coordinate anti-trafficking activities and monitored policies through a report and three press releases, improving collaboration and awareness at the community level.
Communication Outputs
Project Communications
All project activities were promoted through ECLER’s media channels and with printed materials on school campuses. The project also included an awareness campaign on social media. ECLER shared the findings of their report through three press releases, an example of which is attached below.
