About the Project
Good Afternoon, My Name Is Gender Equality
The project aimed to tackle the issue of gender equality in Slovenia. Despite gender equality being an EU value, only a few municipalities had action plans to achieve it. In addition, the organisation noticed that online violence was increasing, leaving young people, especially girls, struggling to respond to discrimination. To address this, the team raised awareness and taught schoolchildren about gender equality and how to act when their rights were violated. They also promoted gender equality across local institutions, including submitting a strategic document to the Municipality of Jesenice. PIPZ delivered many workshops, a round table and street activities in their municipality. They also gathered data, created an online forum and produced several informational materials. As a result, the project strengthened local understanding of gender equality and encouraged action from citizens and authorities.
