IPES Institute is a non-governmental, non-profit, volunteer organisation that works to deepen understanding of gender equality in society. It challenges gender stereotypes and supports women and men in realising their full potential. Through research, education, awareness activities and social projects, it promotes transparent and inclusive democratic processes based on dialogue. With a strong focus on young people, IPES encourages critical thinking about gender inequality and its social impact, helping to build a more informed and inclusive future generation.

About the Project

Advocacy, Strategic Planning, and Empowerment in the Field of Reproductive Health of Women (and Men) in Slovenia: VERA

The IPES Institute project was motivated by a lack of systematic approaches to reproductive health in Slovenia, which creates pressure on the state, leads to discriminatory treatment and results in violations of citizens’ rights. They also noted that Slovenia’s current approach does not align with the European Parliament’s broader definition of reproductive health. Their project – VERA, focused on three main areas: preparing an inclusive National Strategy for Reproductive Health 2030 in consultation with relevant stakeholders, delivering ten youth empowerment and education workshops with tested modules, and running a wide-reaching awareness campaign to support reproductive rights and reduce stigma in Slovenia.

Communication Outputs

Project Communications

IPES Institut produced a highly successful awareness campaign as part of the project, reaching more than 15,000 people in Slovenia and gaining media coverage. The team also produced opinion columns, an example of which is shown below.
