Persistent socioeconomic and political challenges continue to limit the full enjoyment of women’s rights in Portugal, reinforced by declining female representation in parliament and rising anti-equality rhetoric since March 2024. In response, PDH launched a project to strengthen the capacity and cooperation of Portuguese civil society organisations by building a coalition of interested CSOs. The project built synergies through strategic meetings, focus groups, regional workshops and a public conference. These activities were focused on women’s rights, health, and sexual and reproductive rights. The project has increased PDH’s visibility, strengthened partner organisations, expanded collaboration nationwide, and laid the groundwork for further workshops and an awareness campaign that will follow in the second half of the project.
