Policy Lab is a Slovenian grassroots think-and-act tank dedicated to environmental justice, social rights and new economic thinking. It educates and supports civil society organisations, builds community, and shapes policy through research, education and advocacy. The organisation challenges the dominance of GDP as a policy goal and promotes collaborative approaches. Its mission is to serve as a knowledge resource for progressive CSOs, working towards a just, sustainable, democratic and peaceful world.

About the Project

Preparing CSOs for the Struggles Ahead

Rural and urban land in Slovenia faces intense private speculation, causing displacement, loss of affordable housing, green spaces, and worsening inequalities. This project addresses the lack of coordinated civil society responses by linking CSOs with researchers, activists and other stakeholders to tackle systemic land governance issues. The goal of the project is to develop evidence-based strategies for advancing land justice and strengthening CSOs’ advocacy and policy influence. At this stage of the project, Policy Lab has already formed a multi-sectoral coalition of ten members, established a shared work plan, organised a study trip to Serbia, and notably organised the EU Multi-Stakeholder Seminar and the campaign around it. The second half of the project will include work webinars, workshops, and further coalition-building activities.
