Supporting a vibrant civil society in Europe
Society for Investigation Practices (SIP)
zelenizakoni.comThe Society for Investigation Practices’ goal is to develop innovative interdisciplinary research that helps address social issues and to conduct public policy monitoring. It aims to foster discussion and professional skills in areas such as education, youth, civil rights and public policy. The organisation encourages citizen participation in decision-making, promotes transparency and protects democratic rights, including freedom of speech. Since 2014, SIP's Green Laws initiative has monitored environmental legislation and advanced access to justice in environmental cases.
About the Project
Right to Nature Coalition
SIP’s Right to Nature project aims to address the gap between EU environmental principles and weak national safeguards, which limit citizens’ access to justice on issues that negatively impact the environment in Bulgaria. Therefore, SIP’s goal is to strengthen the informal networks of civil society by developing it into a coalition that advocates for local cases and national legal reform. So far, the project has held regional meetings with partners, consulted local groups, coordinated expert legal reviews, organised numerous campaigns and protests, and submitted a draft law. This ongoing project has improved coordination and efficiency among activists and mobilised public attention to Right to Nature campaigns.

About the Project
Right to Nature Communications
SIP’s second Catalyst project builds on its first, Right to Nature, which strengthened environmental coalitions and advocacy in Bulgaria. SIP’s new project aims to develop more long-form video and social media content to raise awareness and explore environmental topics in greater detail. SIP will release self-produced Right to Nature podcasts, social media teasers, and videos to improve visibility of environmental justice issues and engage wider audiences. Planned activities include ten thematic podcasts analysing current campaigns, six videos in collaboration with popular Bulgarian media OFFNews, and ten short social media teasers for the podcasts. By using popular audio-visual formats, the project aims to make complex issues more accessible to the public.
