About the Project
Empowering Women’s Voices in Reproductive Health
The project aim was to tackle the lack of female participation in discussions and decisions on reproductive health in Slovenia, which led to policies that did not reflect women’s needs. Povod offered a solution by engaging women directly to create more inclusive and equitable policies and to counter growing populist and neoconservative influence. To find the best way to involve women in the decision making process, the team produced a report that identified barriers, socio cultural dynamics and areas for intervention in women’s participation in reproductive health discussions. Povod also developed training materials, trained women’s rights activists, ran a media campaign with wide reach and held a roundtable with 30 stakeholders to discuss the findings and policy recommendations.
