ZERO
zero.ongZERO is an environmental NGO working on climate, energy and mobility, sustainable communities and the circular economy, among other environmental issues. It leads and contributes to national and European projects, promoting environmental advocacy and public awareness. Founded ten years ago, ZERO has become one of the most visible environmental organisations in Portugal. It promotes a fair balance between the environment, society and the economy, within the planet’s natural limits.
About the Project
InfoClima – Youth in Action Against Climate Disinformation
ZERO’s project aims to tackle climate misinformation linked to environmental justice in Portugal. False claims weaken informed action, fuel apathy and denial, and harm the vulnerable communities most affected by the climate crisis. The project empowers young people, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, to challenge these narratives through creative and participatory activities. ZERO is organising three interactive workshops on prebunking and creative communication to build media literacy and climate awareness. The second half of the project focuses on a creative awareness campaign combining digital and street actions to promote climate justice. Future activities include an interactive fact-checking event “Polígrafo Clima”, a podcast episode, media outreach and a public mural, helping counter disinformation through prebunking, awareness-raising, and greater visibility.
